mHealth vs. Clinic-based Care
The objective of this study was to compare two illness management interventions for serious mental illness (SMI): a widely used clinic-based group intervention and a novel mHealth smartphone intervention. The study was structured as a randomized controlled trial and data were collected using a comprehensive mixed-methods quantitative /qualitative approach.
The specific aims of the study were to:
1) Evaluate and compare the willingness and ability of individuals with SMI to commence on of two illness management interventions.
2) Examine and compare participant engagement and satisfaction with both treatments.
3) Examine and compare patient clinical outcomes following participation in the interventions.
